The Modern Issue of School Bullying

In the Honourable Dr. Tim Gopeesingh’s statement on the issue of school bullying, he makes it clear that the issue is not just limited to bullying, but also encompasses school violence. He also points out that the lack of proper parenting in the home is a major contributor to the problem. In order to address the situation, the Ministry has put in place a number of preventative measures, such as the use of safety officers, teachers trained in alternative dispute resolution, student support services, guidance counselors, and school social workers.
