In Night, Elie Wiesel depicts the many ways in which the Jews were dehumanized. They were starved, ruthlessly beaten, and forced to do hard labor. This dehumanization caused them to lose their sense of self and their basic human rights. The Jews were reduced to animals, and they suffered greatly as a result.
